Val d'Isere Information
Below is an outline of practical information to take with you on your ski holiday. From transport to lift passes, this useful information is well worth taking with you as it could make your lift slightly easier when arriving in Val d'Isere. Failing that, your chalet host will no doubt be able to fill you in on any other information should you need it when you arrive:
Lifts
Being at a high altitude, Val D’Isere is one of the most snow sure ski resorts in the Alps. You can purchase a pre-season lift pass at a reduced rate. This is available from 28th November to 18th December. These dates are obviously dependent on the first snowfall.
You can buy a full area lift pass from the 18th December all the way up to 2nd May
Buses
In Val d'Isere there is no need to use your car. Just take the bus, it's free of charge and very convenient! The Train Rouge (red route) runs from La Daille at one end of Val d'Isere to the main lift area, and then from here to Le Fornet at the other end of Val d'Isere. There are 2 other bus routes connecting the quieter Manchet Valley and Bellevarde area to the Solaise lift area.
The Train Rouge runs from:
8.30am - 5.30pm every 5/6 minutes.
5.30pm - 8pm every 10 minutes on La Daille line, and every 15 minutes on Le Fornet line.
8pm - 2am every 15 minutes
