Courchevel - Apres Ski and Nightlife
Courchevel is a bustling ski resort with great variety in both it's après ski and nightlife. There is a fantastic choice of bars in both Courchevel 1650 and 1850, although bars in Courchevel 1850 do tend to be a little pricy. In the evening many of the bars have live music with dancing and drinking until the early hours. So here is our guide of where to go before and after your chalet evening meal.
The Signal
This bar in Courchevel has recently changed ownership and has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The views however across the Bozel valley towards the direction of Meribel and Val Thorens remain fantastic and breath taking. The bar is famed for introduced the notoriously strong Mutzig to the area.

Bar Le Schuss
In the heart of Courchevel 1650, this bar has only been open for the past 2 seasons. The décor is that of a typical mountain lodge, it combines modern comforts with traditional Savoyarde style. The Schuss bar is the place to go if you are looking for a quiet drink in comfortable surroundings where you can relax and enjoy each other’s company. The Schuss also shows all the main sports matches and tends to attract a more mature crowd.
Rocky’s Bar
Part of Hotel Les Avals, so tends to attract British Clientele. This is one of the most popular and lively bars in Courchevel 1650. They often have themed nights which involve seasonnaires and tourists dressing up in various fancy dress outfits. They have satellite TV and show all the main sporting matches, and they even show some of the soaps. On certain nights of the week they have live music and boast a variety of drinks promotions for you to take advantage of. You can also enjoy a peaceful drink or snack out on the terrace whilst soaking up the last few rays of sun. The bar also doubles as an internet café, allowing you to check your emails and keep in contact with friends and family.
New Space Pub
The New Space Pub is located at the top end of 1650 on the main road heading to Courchevel 1850. You will often here live bands playing to packed out crowds, the bar opens daily from 4pm till 1am. The emphasis is on having a good time, whether you are watching an extreme skiing DVD, sipping a cocktail or dancing to the live music.
Funky Fox
Located next door to Sport Gliss, near the Sherpa supermarket at the top end of Courchevel 1650. This is the bar that everyone tends to end up at the closing stages of the night with dancing going on until 4am. The Funky Fox doesn’t really get busy until later on in the evening, people head here after the other bars run their course. The Funky Fox offers everything you could want from a night out in the Alps, from live music and DJ’s to pool tables and even a Wii competition. They have a monthly drum and base night which draws in not only the tourists but a lot of the locals, this is one of the most popular nights in Courchevel 1650. You can also watch all the big sporting events on their projector screen, whilst enjoying a few drinks. This however is one of the more expensive bars in Couchevel 1650.
Pub Le Ski Lodge
Situated in the centre of La Tania at the bottom of the Folyeres ski run with a large sunny terrace ideal for an après drink or two. They have Happy Hour from 4pm to 6pm daily with regular live music, themed nights as well as drinks promotions. Regular band that plays both at après and in the evening is the famous Bring Your Sisters. Theme nights such as the ‘Space Party’, which includes DJ sets and €3 pints. There is always an extreme sports DVD being played on the plasma screens, or they will be showing all live Sky Sports events. Finally don’t forget the famous Ski Lodge Cocktail, which is free if it’s your birthday!

TJ’s
A British run bar in the centre of Courchevel 1850. There are various cocktails and shooters to choose from. The bar tends to draw in a lot of British Clientele. They are also famous for their theme nights, and an assortment of drink promotions. The bar becomes busy between the hours of 10pm and 2am, the staff in TJ’s never forget a face and are great fun. TJ’s make their own flavored vodka shots and the more you buy the cheaper they become.
Piggy’s
A very chic and exclusive cocktail and wine bar in the heart of Courchevel 1850. This is a striking pub and piano bar with a warm and stylish atmosphere, serving excellent beers and local wines as well as spirits. You do however pay for the hospitable ambiance, a pint in Piggy’s will cost you €14, even in the playground of the rich and famous it is rather expensive. It is worth a visit but maybe only for one drink.

Le Milk Pub
Le Milk is one of Courchevel's most popular après ski spots. The trendy underground bar attracts a younger crowed, probably due to the drinks being sensibly priced. They have live music playing most afternoons that draws in the crowds and adds to the friendly and quirky ambiance of the bar. It is conveniently located on the slopes of the Les Trois Vallees, making it the perfect place to drop in after a hard days skiing. By night the scene awakens to more of a disco atmosphere, with a regular DJ playing each evening.

Le Kalico
Without tkis piste side bar, Courchevel would lack in a popular après ski venue, all other resorts have their big name bars and nowhere else in Courchevel really caters for the big party atmosphere. So from 4pm onwards, or before if you finish skiing earlier the party starts here. Funky live bands, chilled out ambiances along with Tapas, crepes, vin chaud, hot punch and the vodka bar what else do you possibly need to start the après ski? For the sports fans they have Sky Sports and show all the big games throughout the week or any other big sporting events that generates interest like the Grand National, Boat Race, Rugby, Football and lots more. The prices are not crazy typical Courchevel prices and so it appeals to everyone not just the elite jet set, there is something for everyone.

Le Tremplin
Le Tremplin is perfectly situated at the bottom of the ski runs in Courchevel 1850, making it the ideal location to stop for an après drink. With its large terrace you can sit back and relax with a drink, whilst basking in the sun. They often have live music playing from 4pm daily, and with very efficient table service you don’t even need to leave your seat.

Le Caves
This nightclub is situated near the entrance of Courchevel 1850. This is the place to go once all the other bars have run their course, people from all nationalities tend to end up here to carry on the evening. Le Caves often have weekly events such as a guest DJs playing a variety of sets. This bar is not only popular with the tourists but also with the locals, it is however not for those on a budget, as drinks are expensive.

Purple Café
This Parisian style cocktail bar is located at the entrance of Courchevel 1850. This stylish bar has a wide selection of cocktails to choose from, and they don’t take your fancy they also have an excellent wine list. This tends to attract a more trendy crowd, this is a good place to go if you are looking for a more cosmopolitan and quirky bar. The bars aims for a more sophisticated image.
